Designed to be ultralight, packable, and roomy enough for side sleepers or anyone who moves around in the night, the new CloudLite and DreamLite sleeping bags are the latest from Western Mountaineering. Check both out here…

With more than 30 sleeping bags, Western Mountaineering has one of the most extensive lineups out there. This didn’t happen overnight; they have over 50 years of commitment to manufacturing some of the lightest, most compressible sleeping bags in the world. I reviewed the Flylite, which was designed in celebration of their 50th anniversary, and it’s undoubtedly one of those items I’ll never let go.

Western Mountaineering just released two new sleeping bag models, both based on the semi-rectangular design of the TerraLite 25°F (4°C), but they offer different temperature ratings and specs. Up first is the Western Mountaineering DreamLite. It’s rated for 35°F (2°C), weighs 1 pound and 9 ounces (720 grams) for the 6’0″ version, and is made 850+ fill power goose down and a fully baffled design. It shares the same semi-rectangular shape as the TerraLite, which is less confining than a mummy bag, and features a secondary zipper that allows the footbox to be fully unzipped or the bag to be opened flat for use as a quilt. It’s available with either a left- or right-hand zipper, and in four lengths: 5’6″, 6’0″, 6’6″, 7’0″. It costs between $530 and $575, depending on size.

The Western Mountaineering CloudLite also shares the same roomy shape as the TerraLite, but it’s designed for colder adventures with a rating of 15°F (-10°C). For added warmth, it has a full down collar and insulated draft tube, as well as dual full-length zippers, 850+ fill power goose down, and it weighs in at 2 pounds and 5 ounces (1,042 grams). The CloudLite is available with all the same options as the DreamLite and starts at $725.
