The new Bombtrack Hook EXT C APEX AXS is an updated build from the German bike brand that promises a little bit of everything. With a carbon frame and fork, clearance for a 700 x 57mm tire, mounts for racks and fenders, and a APEX AXS build kit, it isn’t solely for racers and performance-minded cyclists. Featuring a Seido MGV carbon fork with three-pack mounts and lowrider mounts for burlier racks, the Hook EXT C could serve as a solid adventure and bikepacking-oriented carbon gravel bike. Mounts on the underside of the downtube also add some extra space for extra bottles, and the top tube mounts are a welcome addition.
The latest Hook EXT C comes equipped with the new SRAM APEX AXS drivetrain, a 12-speed 1x system with electronic shifting and hydraulic brakes. The bike also features optional internal cable routing through the Seido bars and stem, giving users the choice to keep their cables fully concealed or not depending on their preference. The frame comes in at a reported weight of 1,380 grams, while the fork is 550 grams with the steerer uncut. Pricing for the Bombtrack Hook EXT C APEX AXS version is $1,850 for a frameset or $4,600 for a complete with the APEX AXS kit.
