Evan Fournier has made it clear that Olympiacos has become more than just another stop in his long career – it’s where he wants to finish his playing days.

In a recent interview with TVMonaco, the French international spoke openly about his relationship with the Reds, saying that he has fully embraced life in Piraeus.

“Well, I feel really good at the club. I settled in completely, and my transition went pretty well. It’s true that everything happened very quickly for me when I signed,” Fournier said, reflecting on his first year with Olympiacos.

Fournier’s move to Europe came after more than a decade in the NBA, where he appeared in 723 games following his selection as the 20th overall pick in the 2012 draft.

Over 12 years, he suited up for the Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic, Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, and Detroit Pistons. Leaving that chapter behind wasn’t easy, he admitted.

“It was a bit strange in the beginning. When you build a whole career in one place for 12 years and then you change completely, you start from scratch at 32, it’s strange.”

But since joining Olympiacos in 2024, Fournier has found both stability and purpose. He signed a contract extension with the Reds in July and has no intention of leaving any time soon.

“I feel very good here and I want to finish my career here,” he explained. “I don’t know if that’s going to happen, but for me that’s the goal.”

That goal is tied not just to personal comfort but also to unfinished business. After helping Olympiacos to the EuroLeague Final Four in 2025, Fournier and the Reds settled for third place. For the veteran guard, that’s not enough.

“The goal was to win. We didn’t do it, so I can’t leave until the goal is achieved,” he said, underlining his determination to capture the EuroLeague crown before walking away from the game.

As his second season with Olympiacos begins, Fournier is currently dealing with a setback – a left foot injury that leaves him questionable for two key games: Friday’s EuroLeague Round 3 clash against Dubai and Sunday’s Stoiximan GBL showdown with Panathinaikos Aktor.

Both contests are set to take place at the Peace and Friendship Stadium, where Fournier hopes to return soon and continue chasing the ultimate prize with the Reds.
