The New Orleans Pelicans and forward Christian Shumate have agreed to a training camp deal. Shumate will join New Orleans for the preseason, then will likely join the Laketown Squadron of the G League for the regular season.

Shumate appeared in 40 games for the Squadron last season. The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 11.2 points on 51.6% shooting and 6.6 rebounds per game.
