Bradley Beal is entering his first season with the Los Angeles Clippers carrying both intensity and composure. After signing a two-year, $11 million contract on July 18, he discussed his mindset in a conversation with Lou Williams on Underground Lounge.
“It’s both,” Beal said, via HoopsHype, when asked if he felt at peace or still angry. “The fire in me hears the noise—I don’t pay attention to it, but I hear it. I still got a chip on my shoulder. That helps. But I’m still true to me.”
Beal emphasized that his focus extends beyond scoring. “I’m excited to play this game and contribute in a multitude of ways—outside of just scoring,” he added.
The 32-year-old guard comes off two seasons with Phoenix, where he averaged 17.0 points in 32.1 minutes per game in 2024–25. Over his career, he has maintained a 21.5 points-per-game average across 801 games, establishing himself as a consistent offensive force.
Despite his experience, Beal is clear that motivation drives him daily. He described the “chip on my shoulder” as a tool to channel energy and maintain competitiveness in a new environment with high expectations.
Joining a Clippers roster that has undergone reshaping, Beal’s versatility is expected to enhance the team’s depth. His ability to facilitate, defend, and score in multiple ways positions him as a key contributor alongside James Harden and other core players.
