The Golden State Warriors are being encouraged to make an all-in move for LeBron James and Anthony Davis in an effort to maximize Stephen Curry’s remaining championship window.

With Curry set to turn 39 next season and Golden State making few major offseason additions, the argument is that the Warriors cannot afford another year with largely the same roster.

James is reportedly believed to be much more interested in joining Golden State if the team first acquires Davis, his former Lakers teammate and 2020 championship partner.

Acquiring Davis would likely require the Warriors to trade Jimmy Butler for salary-matching purposes while also giving up multiple first-round picks and draft swaps.

Although that would significantly impact the franchise’s future, supporters of the move believe it would finally give Curry another legitimate chance to compete for a title.

There are obvious risks. Davis, 33, has battled injuries in recent years and is owed $58 million next season with a nearly $63 million player option for 2027-28.

However, when healthy, the 10-time All-Star remains one of the league’s premier two-way big men.

James also continues to perform at a high level, averaging 20.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists last season despite approaching his 42nd birthday.

The report also notes that Rich Paul recently added intrigue by listing several potential destinations for James on his “Game Over” podcast, with the Warriors appearing lower on the board than teams such as the 76ers, Heat, Timberwolves, Nuggets, and Cavaliers.

“You can think whatever you think,” Paul said. “This is my board. You decide what you want to think.”

The belief is that if Golden State wants to seriously compete for another championship, it must take a major risk by acquiring Davis and positioning itself to land James.
