One of the event regulators employed by UFC Freedom 250 responded to Ilia Topuria’s scathing allegations about Justin Gaethje.

Ilia Topuria raised eyebrows earlier this week when he accused UFC lightweight champion Justin Gaethje of cheating in their UFC Freedom 250 showdown. In a recent tweet, Topuria hinted that Gaethje had something ‘weird in his gloves’ during their fight at UFC Freedom 250, which Gaethje won by TKO.

After suffering the first loss of his career, Topuria is potentially campaigning for an immediate rematch with Gaethje. Top lightweight contenders Arman Tsarukyan and Mauricio Ruffy will also look to make their cases this weekend at UFC 331.

Gaethje responded to Topuria’s claims via social media and in a recent interview, denying the allegations vehemently. As of this writing, there isn’t any direct evidence of wrongdoing by Gaethje and his team at UFC Freedom 250.

UFC CEO Dana White and the rest of the promotional brass have remained quiet on Topuria’s claims. But one of the top regulators was recently pressed to respond to Topuria’s allegations.

Official: Justin Gaethje’s gloves ‘totally fine’ in Ilia Topuria upset win

In a recent interview with USA Today Sports, California State Athletic Commission executive Andy Foster responded to Topuria’s head-scratching allegations.

“His gloves and wraps were fine and totally within regulations,” Foster responded to Topuria.

“Also well inspected by multiple inspectors.”

Gaethje is expected to be cageside for UFC 331 this weekend as Tsarukyan and Ruffy battle for a potential title shot. Topuria also shared he’s been medically cleared to return to fighting, leaving him as a possibility for Gaethje’s next fight.

In the meantime, tensions continue to skyrocket between Gaethje and Topuria, and an immediate rematch between the two lightweights isn’t off the table.
