On June 27th, the Tampa Bay Rays took over first place in the American League East.

87 days later, on the back of 6 2/3 innings of one-run, 11-strikeout ball from Drew Rasmussen and another four RBI from Yandy Diaz, they  won the American League East.

Tampa needed to take just one of the four games in their series with the New York Yankees, and after dropping the first game of Tuesday’s double-header 2-0, they got to pop champagne after a dominant 6-1 win in the night cap. The win not only guarantees the franchise’s fifth division title, it also locks up the top-seed in the American League playoffs and a bye into the American League Division Series. 

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Diaz has been a consistent hitter for the Rays over the past few seasons, winning the A.L. batting title in 2023 and flirting with his second-consecutive .300 season. With that being said, can you name every A.L. and N.L. batting champ since 2003?
