Officials are pushing back against Marcus Morris’ claim that he went “51 hours” without food or water while jailed, stating there is video evidence showing he was given meals and drinks during his detention.

Morris, 35, made the claim on Instagram after his release from a Broward County jail, where he was held following an arrest related to allegedly writing $260,000 in bad checks to Las Vegas casinos in 2024.

He said, “24-hour lockdown. No food or water for the whole 51 hours.”

However, the Broward Sheriff’s Office reviewed records and video footage, confirming, “Mr. Morris indeed had multiple meals delivered to him, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. His meals were accompanied by juice, and he had access to water.”

Morris also said his arrest was a misunderstanding, believing he had more time to cover gambling debts, which he has since paid. His lawyer added that he was actively repaying the amounts when arrested.

Joking about the situation, Morris wrote, “We could’ve handled this MOB style in the back room at the casinos lol,” but maintained, “never been a FRAUD or participated in no fraud s***.”
