The “F” is back, and this time it’s $500 cheaper. Kawasaki dropped the price on the 2027 KX250F while adding a new hemispherical combustion chamber, an updated suspension valve stack, a stiffer clutch, a longer head pipe for a torquey powerband and a less raspy note, additionally, there are all new levers and seat foam that riders have been asking for. MXA test riders Dennis Stapleton and Josh Fout put over 8 hours on this bike across Perris Raceway, Glen Helen, and Pala Raceway, dialing in fork oil, shock settings, race sag, and gearing until they found a setup that worked best for riders from 150 to 200-plus pounds. MXA’s own Jody Weisel even made a cameo in the pits during testing.
We break down what Kawasaki got right, what still needs work (yes, we’re talking about you, stripped bolts), and whether the updates actually translate to a better bike on the track. Full suspension settings, gearing changes, and an aftermarket mapping option are all covered in this video, along with our honest take on the front fender, the airbox, and everything else Kawasaki touched for 2027.
