After two consecutive summers disrupted by injuries, the San Antonio Spurs guard Devin Vassell finally entered training camp healthy – and that has him feeling confident about turning the page in 2025/26.
As Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News reports, Vassell had been limited by knee and foot problems during the 2023 and 2024 offseasons, but this time he was able to train without restrictions, setting him up for what he hopes will be a bounce-back year.
“It’s been huge,” Vassell said of completing a full offseason program.
“Just being able to come into work every day and even have two-a-days to do certain things that I haven’t been able to do for a while, it’s been good. Strength-wise, conditioning-wise, on-court wise – it’s been a couple of years since I’ve been able to do that.”
Vassell’s production dipped slightly last season as he dealt with nagging injuries, but his expectation is to return to form with more consistency and endurance.
His personal goal is ambitious but clear: to appear in all 82 games, something he hasn’t yet achieved in his career.
His current high-water mark came in 2021/22, when he suited up for 71 games.
