Dana White may have prevented disaster at the final press conference before Ryan Garcia and Conor Benn clash.

White has played a big role in the promotion of Saturday’s WBC welterweight title fight between Garcia and Benn. Fight fans noticed that prior to “KingRy” making his way to the stage, he was told by security to remove something from his pocket. The WBC titleholder had two eggs in his pocket.

Appearing on “The Pat McAfee Show,” White detailed how he ultimately stopped Garcia from getting on stage before precautionary measures were taken.

“Before the faceoff, Ryan Garcia had two eggs in his pocket,” White said. “My security team saw it. He came up to me before. He says, ‘He’s got two eggs in his pocket. What do you want me to do?’ I said, ‘Have him give you the eggs. Get the eggs out of his pocket.’ We don’t need him hitting Conor Benn with an egg. I have a faceoff again today with these two, and what’s Conor Benn gonna show up with?”

Benn has already dealt with a presser that ended with him getting hit with an egg by Chris Eubank Jr. Whether Garcia planned on doing the same thing, or if he simply wanted to get under Benn’s skin by presenting them on stage isn’t clear. Ultimately, White felt it wasn’t worth the risk.

Garcia and Benn have exchanged heated words prior to their clash in Las Vegas. White had to separate both men during their faceoff just one day prior to the weigh-ins. Garcia and Benn have made weight for their WBC championship fight.
