UFC boss Dana White has responded to Paulo Costa suggesting that Hunter Campbell only has three ‘options’ for him regarding his contract.

In his last two fights, Paulo Costa has been able to string together two nice wins that have left him calling for an even bigger opportunity in the light heavyweight division. As we know, once upon a time, Costa was a middleweight title challenger, but things haven’t always gone his way since then.

Away from the cage, Paulo Costa is certainly a character. He knows how to get the attention of the mixed martial arts community, sometimes for better, and sometimes for worse.

Recently, Paulo Costa decided to issue an ultimatum of sorts to Hunter Campbell. In response, Dana White had the following to say.

“Oh, yeah. (Paulo is) frustrated, yeah,” White told MMA Junkie and other reporters. “He’s been offered fights and turned them down. We don’t just say, ‘F*ck Paulo Costa,’ and, ‘You’re not going to get a fight,’ and ‘No we’re not going to pay you,’ and, ‘No, we’re not going to do this.’ Guys get offered three fights a year regularly, even guys who aren’t fighting. Tom Aspinall’s eyes are messed up. He’s getting offered fights. You think Paulo Costa isn’t getting offered fights?”

It’s not unusual for fighters to have problems with the UFC when it comes to matchmaking and actually getting a fight over the line, but hopefully, there’s some kind of resolution to this sooner rather than later. After all, there aren’t too many personas like Paulo’s in the UFC right now.
