As training camp approaches, Jaylen Brown and Derrick White are currently the only guaranteed starters for the Boston Celtics.
However, Brian Robb of MassLive argues that combo guard Payton Pritchard deserves to be considered a likely starter as well.
In his mailbag column, Robb explains that Pritchard is the most probable candidate to join White in the backcourt, particularly since Anfernee Simons does not seem to fit into the team’s long-term plans.
The frontcourt situation appears more fluid. Robb notes that Sam Hauser and Neemias Queta are expected to start most games, while Chris Boucher may be inserted as part of a double-big lineup when Mazzulla wants to adjust the team’s formation.
This flexibility allows the coach to adapt his lineup based on matchups and strategy, giving the Celtics multiple options to optimize performance.
