The Charlotte Hornets and wing Brandon Miller have been actively discussing a rookie scale extension. Miller is entering his fourth season with the Hornets after being the second overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Miller has battled injuries throughout his career but has proven to be a building block for Charlotte when healthy. Last season, the 6-foot-7 wing averaged 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. Miller took a real leap with his efficiency, as he shot 38.3% on 7.9 three-point attempts per game, while shooting 89.2% on a career-high 3.4 free throw attempts per game.

As a rookie, Miller appeared in 74 games. In his second season, that dipped to 27 games, as Miller had a torn ligament in his right wrist. Miller than played in 65 games last season but battled shoulder instability throughout the season.
