Maccabi Tel Aviv and the other Israeli teams competing in EuroLeague competitions will continue playing their home games outside Israel, with no immediate change to the current arrangement.

Maccabi confirmed the situation after club chairman Shimon Mizrahi and sports director Claudio Coldebella met EuroLeague CEO Chus Bueno and competitions director Diego Gijón in Abu Dhabi.

The discussion focused on the possibility of bringing games involving the three Israeli clubs back to Israel.

For now, the EuroLeague’s position remains unchanged, meaning the teams will continue using alternative venues because of the ongoing conflict and security situation in the Middle East.

“Club Chairman Shimon Mizrahi and Sports Director Claudio Coldebella held an extended meeting today (Saturday) in Abu Dhabi with EuroLeague CEO Mr. Chus Bueno and Competitions Director Mr. Diego Gijón regarding the return of games involving the three Israeli teams participating in EuroLeague competitions to Israel.

“There have been no changes; however, CEO Mr. Bueno and Competition Director Mr. Gijón will arrive in Israel within the next two weeks for a fact-finding visit as guests of the Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club.”
