Some 11 hundred athletes are gathering in Missouri’s Capital City for a special cause.

The 2022 Special Olympics Missouri State Outdoor Games called SOMO, will bring more than a thousand athletes, coaches, and volunteers from across the state to Jefferson City.

The “disco” themed games are set to take place October 7th through the 9th.

The Lincoln University Marching Band is slated to perform during the ceremony, and at the end of the ceremony, SOMO’s 2022 USA Games’ Team Missouri delegation will officially open the State Outdoor Games.
