An issue with the bat of Astros outfielder Taylor Trammell caused a delay during the ninth inning of the Yankees’ 8-4 win over Houston on Thursday night.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone asked the umpire crew to examine Trammell’s bat after he hit a double off the left field wall against reliever David Bednar.

It wasn’t immediately clear why Boone had the umps examine the bat, but after a lengthy review and conversation between crew chief Adrian Johnson and the replay office in New York, Trammell remained at second base.
