Luis Rojas has known Pete Alonso throughout the slugger’s career, from their time together in the Mets minor league system to two seasons as his big league manager in Queens in 2020-21.

Now the Yankees third base coach, Rojas says he “couldn’t be happier” for Alonso after the All-Star first baseman set the Mets all-time record for home runs Tuesday night against the Braves.

“What I noticed was that Pete had the same face going around the bases as I saw as a minor leaguer all those years ago. Just pure joy and love for baseball,” Rojas told The Post outside the Yankees dugout before Wednesday’s series finale against the Twins. “He enjoys the game at all times. We all knew in the minor leagues that his power was gonna play in the big leagues, and he worked so hard to become a better defensive player, too.

“To see him do this, it just takes me back to watching his development. I always loved to be around Pete, everyone did. And I am so happy for him. It’s a tremendous accomplishment.”
