Watford are now in talks to sign Michail Antonio in a post-window deal, with the forward available on a free transfer after leaving Qatari side Al-Sailiya.
The Hornets have made a steady start to the Championship campaign, under the helm of new manager Alessio Dionisi, collecting five points from their opening four matches, which leaves them 13th in the table.
However, Dionisi will be hoping the flurry of activity on deadline day gives his side a boost, having made three new additions to the squad, with two forwards arriving at Vicarage Road.

Despite strengthening their attack significantly, Dionisi's side remain keen on signing Antonio, with the 36-year-old very experienced at Championship level, picking up 28 goals and 30 assists in 142 matches in the competition.
The 24-cap Jamaica international has spent time with the likes of Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday, but he is perhaps best remembered for his spell with West Ham United, and he is the Irons' all-time leading scorer in the Premier League, netting 68 goals.
During his time with the Hammers, the forward was ruled out for nearly a year due to a car crash, after which he received praise for his resilience from former teammate Mark Noble.
Noble said: "To be honest, if you look at him, he's a freak of nature. I mean, how he got out of that car in the first place. But I saw him yesterday at the training ground and he's walking about freely, he's in the gym doing stuff.
"So, I think Antonio's realised that he's a very lucky boy to walk away and he accepts that, but it's just great to see him around, he's such a good character."
Noble's glowing character reference indicates the Jamaican could be a real help for the Hornets off the pitch, while his vast Premier League experience means he may still have a lot left to give at second-tier level.
Watford in talks to sign Michail Antonio
According to a report from Sky Sports, Watford are in talks to sign Antonio in a post-window deal, and there is no rush, as he would be arriving at Vicarage Road on a free transfer.
The former West Ham United man has been training with the Championship side for the past few weeks, despite admitting he was thinking about hanging up his boots earlier this summer.
“I’ve been talking to a few clubs. We’re going to see what they offer but in the back of my mind, I’m thinking I could possibly retire.
“Me and my agent have partnered up with a few companies and we’re just weighing it up, what’s the best move for me. I’ve got my pundit and presenting side of things as well that I can do, but ex-pros have also told me that if you’re fit and you’re well, try to play as much as possible, because you’re a long time retired.
“So that’s another thing that’s playing on my mind. There are a few things where I’ve just got to make a decision.”
