Much of the final days of the window are likely to be centred around the future of Nicolas Raskin for Glasgow Rangers, although there could still be another incoming at Ibrox by all accounts.

Even at the tail-end of a hectic summer of recruitment, the Gers are still seeking to sign a new right-winger, even having snapped up Daisuke Yokota from Hannover.

The suggestion had been that Derek McInnes was particularly keen on adding Brighton and Hove Albion's Amario Cozier-Duberry to his ranks to solve that problem position, the 21-year-old having shone on loan in League One last season.

Alas, despite ongoing links to the Englishman, he has since moved elsewhere, leaving the Glasgow outfit with little time left to snap up an alternative.

The right flank remained an issue across 2025/26, with Oliver Antman and then Andreas Skov Olsen flattering to deceive on that side, scoring just two Premiership goals between them.

McInnes does have Yokota and young Findlay Curtis to call upon at present, with Djeidi Gassama and Kim Min-su on the opposite flank, although that hasn't stopped the interest in the likes of Cozier-Duberry.

A £7.5m bid from Rangers was rejected by Brighton earlier this month, with the youngster ultimately joining Championship side Middlesbrough on a loan basis, linking up with a certain Connor Barron at the Riverside.

Formerly of Arsenal, the Hale End graduate was tipped to be the next Bukayo Saka, prior to moving to the south coast in 2024, having since spent the last two seasons with Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers, respectively.

That latter stint proved particularly fruitful, as the diminutive left-footer showed what he's all about, producing a stunning catalogue of finishes as Bolton soared back into the second tier.

In all, Cozier-Duberry scored and assisted 18 goals in League One, ranked second too in the division in terms of total successful dribbles completed.

He'll no doubt go on to rip it up at 'Boro and see his value soar, while for Rangers, it's getting a little late in the day to seal an alternative.

The right-winger Rangers could sign before deadline day

The Gers are still waiting for official confirmation regarding the signing of Portland Timbers striker, Kevin Kelsy, the 22-year-old set to join for a fee of around £9m.

The spending, even after splashing out £8.6m on Kim, might not be done just yet, however, with there still seemingly work to be done after seeing Cozier-Duberry head elsewhere.

As per TEAMtalk, one option that remains on the table is former Ibrox loan hero, Vaclav Cerny, with the 28-year-old having been heavily linked with a return to Glasgow.

Negotiations regarding a move to Besiktas for Nicolas Raskin have hit the skids, although, as per the report, the two clubs have held separate talks regarding a potential reunion for Cerny.

This comes after prior reports indicated that the Gers were even readying a £7m offer for the Czech sensation, albeit with it not certain that he will leave the Istanbul side.

If he does, a return to Rangers would surely make sense, with the club perhaps left to rue the failure or inability to snap him up permanently a year ago, following that stunning 2024/25 season on loan.

Indeed, whereas Cozier-Duberry would have been a relatively expensive gamble on a player of undoubted potential, Cerny has already proven what he can do for the Light Blues.

In that temporary spell, he notably scored and assisted 12 times in the Premiership, while looking particularly lethal in the Europa League, scoring and assisting eight goals in just 12 appearances in the competition.

Even last term in Turkey, Cerny was still effective, having scored and assisted 13 Super Lig goals, while also starting the new campaign with two goals in the first three league outings.

This is a man who also previously ripped it up in Holland, his final Eredivisie season seeing him score and assist 24 goals for FC Twente, prior to moving to Wolfsburg in 2023.

Across a string of Europe's top-tier leagues, Cerny has now delivered, with his brief spell in Germany the only time when he has really fallen flat, albeit while still netting four Bundesliga goals in 2023/24.

He's proven and experienced, the type of figure that can be a genuine talisman in a relatively youthful team back at Ibrox.

In Cozier-Duberry's case, last season was his first real breakout year in senior football, and while he may go on to lofty heights, Cerny is the man who's already been there and done it at Ibrox.
