Andoni Iraola arrived from Bournemouth to replace Arne Slot just a year after the Duthcman had guided the Reds to the Premier League title, and while fans were frustrated by the decision not to bring in a defensive midfielder, the Reds still got plenty of business done.

Ibrahima Konate left for Real Madrid on a free transfer, a blow to the new manager's defensive depth having started 30 league games during the 2024/25 title-winning campaign and a further 36 last term.

Club legends Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah also departed following the expiry of their contracts, while Curtis Jones' exit at least banked a decent fee which could rise to £30m.

Carter Pinnington joined West Brom for an undisclosed fee, while Luca Stephenson completes a £700,000 move to Bolton and Stefan Bajčetić also moved on the cheap.

Armin Pecsi, Ifeanyi Ndukwe, Harvey Elliott and Kyle Kelly have all gone out on loan, while Liverpool also released several academy players this summer, including Rhys Williams, who played a key role under Jurgen Klopp during the injury-hit 2020/21 campaign.
