Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayPromoter backs Dubois ahead of Fabio Wardley title fight in Manchester
Frank Warren has defended Daniel Dubois following reaction to his fight week interviews. Warren said the focus should remain on Dubois’ record ahead of his fight with Fabio Wardley.
Frank Warren has dismissed suggestions that Daniel Dubois’s visible irritation during fight week interviews indicates mental weakness. Addressing the “Don’t Blink” media tour, Warren urged fans to judge the 27-year-old on his professional resume rather than his public speaking mannerisms.
“People are making a lot of him leaving the interviews this week. I thought it was maybe a little bit uncomfortable,” said Warren to Secondsout. “People seem to be making fun of Daniel a little bit instead of heralding him as what he is as a fighter.
“He’s quite calm and collected, but he doesn’t like it. He’s not interested in it. Everybody’s different. Introverted people, extroverts, all their different mannerisms and characteristics. He’s won a world title, and look at his resume. There’s not been no easy jobs on there. He just wants to get on quietly with his life.”
Dubois stopped Anthony Joshua in five rounds at Wembley Stadium last year. However, in Dubois’s last fight in July, he was knocked out by Oleksandr Usyk in the fifth round.
Wardley will defend his WBO heavyweight title against Dubois on Saturday night in Manchester in one of the biggest British heavyweight fights of the year. Per Queensberry Promotions, Dubois enters the ring with a 95.4% knockout ratio, a statistic Warren insists outweighs any perceived “uncomfortable” media appearances.
