Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayBritish cruiserweight Cheavon Clarke believes he is ready to take another step forward when he faces Jack Massey on Saturday night in Bournemouth.
The bout serves as the co-feature to the Zuffa Boxing card headlined by Chris Billam-Smith and Ryan Rozicki, with both Clarke and Massey looking to strengthen their positions in the domestic cruiserweight scene.
Clarke enters the contest determined to build on the momentum he regained with a stoppage victory last December.
“It’s going to be operational,” said Clarke to Sky Sports when discussing his approach to the fight.
“That’s all I can say. Operational. You guys who have seen me fight, you know that I’m explosive and all of that.
“But I’m hoping to show what I’ve been learning in training, and hopefully I apply it here, and my coach will be happy, I’ll be happy, everybody will be happy when I’m victorious.”
The 34-year-old has experienced a mixed run over the past year. After suffering back-to-back defeats against Leonardo Mosquea and Viddal Riley, Clarke returned to winning ways with a stoppage victory and now sees Saturday’s fight as another opportunity to move his career forward.
Massey presents a familiar level of opposition for Clarke. The 31-year-old from Cheshire also rebounded from a defeat in his last outing, stopping his opponent after previously coming up short against Jai Opetaia in a world title challenge.
With both fighters coming off victories and looking to re-establish themselves in the cruiserweight division, Saturday’s clash could prove important for the winner’s plans heading into the second half of 2026.
