As you probably saw in the opening photo, AZ39 stickers (in honor of the recently passed Aidan Zingg) were all over the pits. We spotted Dave Ginolfi setting up some on Jett Lawrence's goggles, shortly before he took the podium in moto one.

Aaron Plessinger struggled towards the end of moto one and ultimately was unable to line up for moto two. In general, it seems like the #7 has been struggling a bit the last couple of rounds, and hopefully we'll know more this next week on his status and situation.
Sometimes it's fun to hang around the gate after riders have left for their sight lap and see their mechanics in action.

Antonio Cairoli made his way to a Pro Motocross to race his sixth ever AMA race, after competing in five rounds in his retirement tour of 2022.
However, this time, he was aboard a different machine, as he took the Ducati 450 DesmoMX to its first-ever AMA race.
His race machine had a very clean look, as this was a R&D project between Ducati Corse and Factory Connection, not under the TLD racing banner as some may have thought.

Antonio wasn't the only Cairoli present, as his wife Jill and their oldest child, Chase, were also along for the ride.

Just under a quick peek, the frame bracing added early into outdoors is still present on both of the Lawrence's machines.

We noticed both of the Lawrence's 450s spent part of Friday without their top engine mounts equipped. We overheard a member of the team saying they had new ones that they only had practice sets for the boys right now, meaning they flew with them and mounted them that day. At first glance, they might not seem different. Our guess is they're either thicker or made of a slightly stiffer material than the standard versions.
Now that's sick.

We mentioned a few rounds ago that the Lawrences had each returned to stock linkages and stock shock shafts. Well, here's a view of a production 16mm shock shaft and clevis being used in a factory shock body...

If you look closely, you can see that Hammaker's forks have a 5.1 fork spring, but what does the 3 underneath mean? Well, we're guessing one of two things. Either the "3" is the PSI in the fork as air assist, or it's the amount of pre-load that has been applied to the fork spring.
HOLY BLUE! Attention, EVERYONE, Star Racing ran all-blue Yamahas. We wish it would continue past this weekend, but one can pray and hope. In the meantime, drool over Haiden Deegan's Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing YZ250F.

Fork warmers in the summer? As we mentioned last week, bringing an air fork up to temperature before the motos can result in a more consistent feel and measurement. Which, yes, Hampshire is on a WP air fork.
