Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make some serious changes this summer and are already planning to replace Cristian Romero and Guglielmo Vicario with two Premier League stars.
Tottenham readying double Premier League raid
It simply cannot be anything other than a busy summer in North London. The Lilywhites must avoid flirting with relegation for the third-consecutive campaign and have already lined up a number of moves in an attempt to do exactly that, including for both Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi.
The duo are set to arrive on free deals following the end of their respective deals at Liverpool and Bournemouth, with Spurs wasting no time before commencing their summer business.
It's the start of several changes ahead of next season, which could also see Romero and Vicario head for the exit door. Both players have been told to pack their bags this summer, with the latter potentially heading back to Italy and the club captain on the radar of Atletico Madrid.
In any other circumstance, the Lilywhites may be disappointed by such departures, but they've already got potential replacements lined up.
According to TeamTalk, Tottenham are readying a double move to sign Jan Paul van Hecke and Bart Verbruggen from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Roberto De Zerbi knows both players well from his time at Brighton, of course, and that is set to boost Spurs' pursuit, even though their interest predates the Italian's arrival.
There will be question marks over the club's ability to match Brighton's asking price for the duo, which is likely to be hefty, but the sale of Romero and Vicario should certainly help in that regard.
Spurs should spend big to sign Vicario and Van Hecke
The Lilywhites have already completed half of their defensive rebuild with Robertson and Senesi on the way at bargain prices. It's an excellent way to commence their summer business, but that business must now also include Van Hecke and Verbruggen, as De Zerbi aims to welcome a whole new backline.
In two more moves, those in North London can solve their biggest weakness and replace Vicario, who struggled this season, as well as Romero, whose ill-discipline has been on show one too many times to warrant the captain's armband.

There was a time when the good outweighed the bad with Romero. Those days are now long gone, however. Welcoming Van Hecke, who is more disciplined, would hand De Zerbi an instant, more reliable upgrade this summer.
The same goes for Verbruggen, with the No.1 shirt there in waiting following a tough season for Vicario and Antonin Kinsky.
