Newcastle United are in the market for a new left-sided attacker after Anthony Gordon completed a £70m move to Barcelona at the end of last month.
The England international made a swift departure from St. James' Park after the 2025/26 campaign came to a conclusion, and he will now play for the Three Lions at the World Cup this summer.
His exit has left a hole in Eddie Howe's squad because he scored 17 goals and provided five assists this season, although only six of those goals came in the Premier League.
The Magpies have lost the impact that he can make at the top end of the pitch, which is why they need to go back into the market to find a new left winger.
It has been claimed, by the Daily Mail, that the club have had an offer of £21m accepted for AIK winger Zadok Yohanna, but so have Chelsea and it is now down to the player to make a decision on his future.
Newcastle United in talks to sign Spain international
Replacing Gordon, who scored four goals in one Champions League game this season, will not be an easy task and Yohanna's return of two goals and two assists in his league career does not suggest that he would hit the ground running on Tyneside.
The 18-year-old attacker, who has scored two goals and provided two assists in 13 Allsvenskan games for AIK in his career, looks more like one for the future, whilst the club are also looking at a star who would be even better than him in the here and now.
According to Daily Mail reporter Craig Hope, Newcastle United are interested in a deal to sign Osasuna winger Victor Munoz in the upcoming summer transfer window. The journalist claims that there are "talks underway" between the two clubs to get a move over the line for the Spain international ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Hope adds, though, that there is huge competition for his signature and this suggests that it will not be an easy transfer for the Magpies to get done in the coming weeks. The former Real Madrid winger has a £35m release clause in his contract with Osasuna and it is now down to Newcastle to trigger it and win the race for his signature if they are serious about making him their replacement for Gordon.
Why Newcastle must sign Victor Munoz over Zadok Yohanna
As aforementioned, Yohanna is in the very early stages of his professional career and has not proven himself at first-team level yet, with just two senior league goals outside of the major leagues.
His lack of experience in Europe's major leagues also casts doubt over his suitability to be slotted straight into the Premier League, particularly at the age of 18, and that is why Munoz should be the priority target to replace Gordon this summer. The 22-year-old attacker is a right-footed left winger, just like the former Newcastle star, and put up remarkably similar statistics to the £70m man at league level in the 2025/26 campaign.

Munoz and Gordon registered the same number of goals and the same number of assists, with the same accuracy from crosses, as well as very similar xA outputs.
It was in dribbling past opposition players where the Spaniard had the edge, though, as he seems far more effective at getting past his full-back to carry his team up the pitch, which suggests that he could be an upgrade on Gordon in that respect.
Meanwhile, Yohanna has not shown that he can score or create goals on a regular basis at senior level, let alone in one of Europe's major leagues, which is why Munoz looks like a far better signing for the club on paper.
His impressive form in LaLiga led to him making his international debut for Spain against Serbia in March, as he came off the bench to score in a 3-0 win for his country.
The forward has also made the cut for the World Cup this summer, where he could face Gordon's England in the knockout stages, and it may be in Newcastle's best interests to get a deal before the tournament gets underway.
If Munoz goes and impresses at the World Cup, more teams could enter the race for his signature and make it even more difficult for the Magpies to get a move over the line.
Therefore, Newcastle must act swiftly to make the Spaniard their replacement for Gordon, because he has the potential to be a like-for-like replacement and an even better signing than Yohanna.
