Tony Ferguson appears to have found his groove under the Misfits Boxing banner.

“El Cucuy” was in action this past Saturday, defending his middleweight gold against Mahmoud Sebie. Ferguson was expected to collide with former pro soccer player Kenzo Biyong, who was forced to withdraw due to travel issues. Sebie couldn’t find an answer for Ferguson’s pressure, and he ended up being stopped in the second round.

Sebie did land a couple of power punch, but Ferguson said he needed to get hit to keep his mind on the fight during his in-ring interview. “El Cucuy” admitted that the recent loss of his mother has been weighing on him, but getting struck by his opponent got him back in the zone prior to the finish.

This is Ferguson’s third win since his UFC run ended. In addition to the victory over Sebie, Ferguson also has wins over Warren Spencer and Salt Papi. Ferguson’s Misfits run has been a much-needed bounce back for the 42-year-old, who parted ways with UFC in early 2025 after an eight-fight skid.

As for what’s next for the former interim UFC lightweight titleholder, Ferguson had a cordial post-fight interaction with Austin McBroom. The two verbally agreed to throw leather in the near future. McBroom is fresh off a first-round finish over Thomas Oliveira in the Brand Risk Promotions 15 main event.

Ferguson will hope to keep his momentum going, as the only loss he’s suffered since his split from UFC was against Arman Tsarukyan in a freestyle wrestling match under the RAF banner. “El Cucuy” remains perfect in the influencer boxing world, and McBroom is looking for a chance to hand Ferguson an upset loss.
