Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayBradley said Dubois answered long-standing doubts during the stoppage win over Fabio Wardley
Tim Bradley says Daniel Dubois changed his opinion completely after the heavyweight champion recovered from two knockdowns to stop Fabio Wardley. Bradley now favors Dubois to beat Tyson Fury if the fight happens.
Bradley admitted he had serious doubts about Dubois in the past because of the criticism that followed him after losses to Joe Joyce and Oleksandr Usyk. Those defeats fueled the narrative that Dubois mentally unraveled once fights became difficult.
That is why the Wardley fight changed Bradley’s opinion.
“There was no stopping Dubois in this fight,” Bradley said on his YouTube channel. “Usually, a fighter gets discouraged. Usually, a fighter packs it in. Dubois held it together.”
Bradley now sees Dubois as a serious danger to Fury.
“I want to see Dubois and Fury go at it,” Bradley said. “If he fights Fury, I’m picking Dubois to win.”
Bradley appears to believe Dubois’ pressure, youth, and punch volume would create major problems for Fury at this stage of his career. Fury has shown signs of slowing physically in recent fights, particularly with his movement and ability to control distance consistently over twelve rounds.
The bigger issue is whether Fury even wants the fight.
Fury has repeatedly said the only fights that interest him are long-discussed bouts with Anthony Joshua and Usyk. Outside of those names, Fury has shown little public interest in taking dangerous heavyweight fights against younger contenders like Dubois.
Even Fury’s expected tune-up fight before a possible Joshua clash is unlikely to answer many questions because it will probably come against a safer opponent with little realistic chance of beating him.
That leaves Dubois in an awkward position. Bradley may view him as the most dangerous British heavyweight right now, but the biggest names above him still appear focused elsewhere.
After years of criticism surrounding Dubois’ mentality, Bradley said he no longer doubts him at all.
“He proved me wrong,” Bradley said. “I will never ever ever ever doubt Dubois again.”
