Sunday's college volleyball slate delivered three ranked upsets, as reported by NCAA.com, headlined by No. 9 Texas recovering from an opening-set loss to beat No. 6 Wisconsin 3-1 (21-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-16).

Vanderbilt's defeat of No. 18 UNC in Manhattan made program history on the same afternoon.

Fans on social media were quick to celebrate the Longhorns comeback, with Texas supporters noting the victory came just days after a five-set loss to No. 8 SMU earlier in the week.

Texas Balances Attack to Overpower Wisconsin

The Longhorns' offense spread the workload across multiple attackers to pull off the comeback. Outside hitter Cari Spears paced the squad with 18 kills on 45 swings at a.289 hitting percentage, while Torrey Stafford and Nya Bunton each contributed more than 12 kills.

Texas seized control by the fourth set, building an early lead and closing out 25-16 to complete the rally.

The win gives Texas a quality top-ten victory as the program prepares for back-to-back matchups against No. 17 Tennessee and No. 3 Kentucky .

Vanderbilt Defeats UNC for Historic Program First

Playing in Manhattan, Vanderbilt dispatched No. 18 North Carolina 3-1 (16-25, 26-24, 25-19, 27-25) in the program's first-ever victory over a ranked opponent.

The Commodores came out dominant in set one, posting a.522 hitting percentage against UNC's.040, then navigated a tighter second set before again pulling away.

Reese Animashaun led Vanderbilt with 20 kills, and Samantha Wunsch was equally lethal, adding 18 on.441 hitting. The team finished the match with 65 kills on a collective.314 efficiency. The milestone arrives in just the program's second season back in competition.

Purdue Wins Paradise Invitational With SMU Sweep

No. 14 Purdue swept No. 8 SMU (30-28, 25-23, 25-22) to claim the Paradise Invitational title, its second ranked win of the season. It was the Boilermakers' second ranked win of the year.

The opening set was the tightest, cycling through seven set points before Grace Heaney sealed it with a kill. The next two sets followed a similar pattern, with SMU staying within reach before Purdue closed each one out.

The sweep was a significant result for Purdue, which entered the tournament as the lower-ranked side.

What Sunday's Results Mean for the Rankings

Texas now carries momentum into a pair of tests against top-20 and top-five programs.

Vanderbilt's win over a ranked UNC side will put the Commodores on the national radar for the first time, while Purdue's tournament championship strengthens a resume that already included one ranked victory before Sunday.
