BANGKOK, Thailand — Japan’s SV.LEAGUE will make history this weekend when it stages its first official league matches outside Japan, bringing the Daido Life SV.LEAGUE Thailand Games Season 2026-27 presented by Hisamitsu to Bangkok on Oct. 10-11.

The landmark women’s matches will feature SAGA Hisamitsu Springs against ALEEZA AICHI at Indoor Stadium Huamark, marking the first time regular-season SV.LEAGUE matches will be played overseas.

Unlike exhibition matches, the two Bangkok encounters are official league fixtures, with the results counting toward the teams’ regular-season standings.

The matches will also bring two of Thailand’s most recognizable volleyball players together as opponents on home soil. Nootsara Tomkom, setter for ALEEZA AICHI, will face fellow Thai national team star Hattaya Bamrungsuk, middle blocker for SAGA Hisamitsu Springs.

Both players have built significant careers in Japan, and their meeting in Bangkok will give Thai fans an opportunity to see them compete on opposite sides in an official SV.LEAGUE match.

Game 1 is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10, at 4:05 p.m. Thailand time, with Game 2 set for Sunday, Oct. 11, also at 4:05 p.m. Both matches will be played at Indoor Stadium Huamark and broadcast live in Thailand on Monomax and Monomax Sport TV.

Thailand was selected as SV.LEAGUE’s first overseas market as the Japanese professional league looks to strengthen its connection with Thai volleyball fans and expand its presence across Southeast Asia.

The Bangkok initiative was introduced earlier this year, with Nootsara and Hattaya joining Japanese players Shunsuke Nakamura of Osaka Bluteon and Reon Arao of Voreas Hokkaido in promotional activities during NIPPON HAKU BANGKOK in August.

SV.LEAGUE Vice Chairman Takeshi Kubota has also highlighted the league’s international expansion strategy as it seeks to broaden its fan base, commercial reach and media presence beyond Japan.

The October matches represent the first stage of that expansion. Bangkok will again host SV.LEAGUE action on Jan. 23-24, 2027, when the league brings its men’s competition to Thailand.

The overseas initiative reflects the growing connection between Japanese and Thai volleyball and SV.LEAGUE’s wider ambition to establish itself among the world’s leading professional volleyball leagues.
