Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayWith training camp about six weeks away, the Philadelphia 76ers remain unsure if big man Joel Embiid will be cleared to participate.
Speaking at Basketball Without Borders Europe in Manchester, head coach Nick Nurse said he’s “not sure” about the center’s status for camp but stressed that “all the news is positive” so far.
Embiid, who underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in April, has missed significant time in back-to-back seasons after his 2023 MVP campaign.
Nurse emphasized the priority is getting him fully healthy, even if that means easing him into the year.
Philadelphia struggled badly without its stars last season, winning just 24 games as Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey all missed extended stretches.
Nurse called it “a really unfortunate season” but is optimistic better health – and rookie VJ Edgecombe – can push the Sixers back into contention.
