UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland has provided a fresh update on his next fight as he gets ready for his return.

Ever since beating Khamzat Chimaev to capture the UFC middleweight title for a second time, Sean Strickland has been on top of the world. Many couldn’t believe it when he defeated Israel Adesanya to first hold the belt, and the Chimaev triumph was arguably even more shocking.

For Sean Strickland, fighting is a way of life. He never seemed to care all too much about accolades, but nobody can deny that the run he has been able to put together in the last few years has been remarkable, especially for someone that was constantly overlooked by critics and pundits.

In a recent update on social media, Sean Strickland had the following to say about his next opponent.

We’re discussing pay now. Once that detail is squared its locked in. The issue is no one cares about the fake Frenchman. We’re almost there 👊 #JesuisCharlie https://t.co/s7Bq48W9Pb

This response stemmed from a fan asking whether or not it’s true that Sean will be defending his championship against Nassourdine Imavov.

“We’re discussing pay now. Once that detail is squared its locked in. The issue is no one cares about the fake Frenchman. We’re almost there [fist emoji] #JesuisCharlie”

Strickland is a two-time UFC world champion and nobody can take that away from him, but you would have to imagine he wants to put together a better title reign this time around as opposed to his first run with the strap. Either way, though, the middleweight division needs some movement at the top, and we are excited to see what this bout could bring at 185 pounds.
