“Saturday at the Glen” divides its racing season into four different series (Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring). Each series has it’s own awards and events. Typically there are five to six races in each series. The Summer series rules in June/July and August, The Fall Series runs in September/October, the Winter series runs in November/ December/ January and February and the Spring series runs in March/April and May. Although “Saturday at the Glen’s” foundation is based on the 35-year run of the REM series, which was responsible for bring racing back to the old Arroyo Cycle Park track,  the races currently rotate back and forth from the Arroyo track to the National track.

For example last Saturday, the race was on the Arroyo track and this Saturday they came down off the hill to race on the National track. Both tracks are open for practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays and when “Saturday at the Glen” is being held on the Nationals track, different racing organization hold their races on the Arroyo track. This past Saturday, when “Saturday at the Glen” was on the National track, the Over-the-Hill Gang hosted a race on the Arroyo track.

Brian is from Hawaii and hosts lots of up-and coming Hawaiian kids to come to SoCal and race. Plus, he is wiling to whip it even if he is only 5 inches above the ground. Photo: Debbi Tamietti

“Saturday at the Glen” often gives up some of dates for Glen Helen’s  yearly events like the  24 Hours of Glen Helen (October 11), World Vet Championship (October 31-November 2), Day in the Dirt (November 29-December 1), World Two-Stroke Championship (April), WORCS, Prairie Dogs Grand Prix, NGPC and, of course, the MotoFest four-day event. There is a list of the remaining 2025″Saturday at the Glen races at the bottom of this page.

You know what’s so scary about the Mt. Saint Helen downhill? It’s steeper than it looks. The golden rule is to put it in a taller gear, lean back and pretend you are mogul skiing. Photo: Debbi Tamietti

6D Helmets Bob Weber (6) has been coming to the races a lot more lately, while Stephen Moore (45) is always at the races. Photo: Debbi Tamietti
