Who and what is this shoe for?
If you want one shoe to do it all, this is it. The Puma Velocity NITRO 4 is ideal for beginners and experienced runners alike. It’s a great choice for anyone building mileage, running to feel good, or simply after a shoe that feels easy and reliable on the foot.
How does it fit?
I found it to be true to size, if a tiny bit long. The updated upper feels secure but not restrictive, and there’s enough room through the toe box for natural movement. It holds the heel nicely, with no rubbing or slipping. While it didn’t feel overly narrow, I did feel like I could feel the sides coming in under my foot.
Is it comfortable?
Yes, noticeably so. The NITROFOAM midsole feels soft without being squishy, so you get a cushioned ride that still feels stable. The upper is breathable and gently hugs the foot, with no hotspots or pressure points. It’s the kind of shoe you could forget you’re wearing.

Puma Velocity NITRO 4 run test
I’ve been out in this shoe for runs from 4 to 6 miles so far. What really surprised me was the price because you’re getting a great shoe for £110. Something that is increasingly rare these days.
While you won’t get the wild bounce of a carbon racer from this shoe, the full-length NITROFOAM™ does add a springy feel that’s noticeable across a range of paces.
It transitions well from easy paced runs to moderate tempo sessions. And the outsole grip is confidence-boosting, even in wet conditions. Puma’s grip is unbeatable and this was another shoe that I’ll be reaching for when it’s wet or icy come winter.
Where can I buy it?
The Velocity NITRO 4 is available from PUMA online and other retailers.
