An elated Brian Norman Sr got pretty animated following his son’s showstopping knockout of Jin Sasaski earlier today, immediately taking to social media to tell the world his son’s KO is exactly what Jaron “Boots” Ennis was afraid of and the reason he left the weight class. That’s certainly one take on the situation, even if it’s not exactly founded in reality.

“Hey man, it’s been a beautiful trip out here, man,” Norman Sr would say. “But all I know is this right here, ya’ll heard B-Norm ‘The Storm’ say what you do when the storm is coming — you grab your motherf-ckin’ boots and you run. People didn’t know why he was running, now ya’ll see why he running. He knew what the f-ck was going on, he knew what was happening.

“The man is 24 years old sleeping people, getting them sent out the ring in stretchers. Ya’ll want any part of that?! I wouldn’t want no part of that sh-t if I was him...We in a whole ‘nother country putting motherf-ckers to sleep, man.

“Do the research, baby. Jin Sasaski ranked #2 in the WBO, ranked #5 in The Ring magazine. Giovanni Santillan ranked #1 in the WBO, ranked #4 right now after he got beat by my son, in Ring magazine. But we haven’t beat top fighters?! Who’s a top fighter, somebody that got an eye-test title?”

Norman Jr’s next step is obviously yet to be determined but he’s at least one of the very top fighters at the 147 weight classes given the reshaped landscape.
