The Nets are declining their $6.25 million team option on forward Ziaire Williams, a move that will create additional salary cap flexibility heading into free agency.

Despite the decision, Brooklyn has not closed the door on bringing Williams back.

The organization followed a similar strategy last offseason, declining to extend him a qualifying offer before renouncing his rights to generate cap space, only to re-sign him later in free agency.

The Nets used the same approach with Day’Ron Sharpe as well.

Williams appeared in 56 games during the 2025-26 campaign, averaging 10.2 points while shooting 42.5 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from three-point range.

The 6-foot-9 forward remains a potential option for Brooklyn once its offseason cap-space plans are finalized.
