No. 1 Nebraska swept No. 20 Creighton 25-13, 25-15, 25-19 on Wednesday night, according to NCAA.com, improving to 25-0 all-time against its in-state rival with its first three-set win over the Blue Jays since 2021.

The match at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln drew 15,405 fans, a program record for an indoor home match, NCAA.com reported.

It was Nebraska's third match ever at the downtown arena, where the Huskers are now 3-0, according to WOWT.

Nebraska improved to 8-0 on the season. Creighton fell to 5-5 and has now lost three straight matches.

Set-by-Set Domination

Nebraska opened with a lopsided 25-13 win in Set 1, hitting .444 as a team while holding Creighton to -0.065, per NCAA.com. Six different Huskers recorded a kill among the team's first seven points of the match.

Set 2 followed a similar script. Nebraska pulled away from a 12-12 tie with an 11-3 run, closing it out 25-15 behind four service aces while limiting Creighton to .000 hitting, NCAA.com reported.

The Blue Jays pushed harder in Set 3. Nebraska's largest lead was 22-17 before the Huskers closed it out 25-19, with four kills in the set from opposite Virginia Adriano.

Jackson Anchors Balanced Attack

Middle blocker Andi Jackson led all players with nine kills on .571 hitting with a single error, adding six blocks, according to both NCAA.com and WOWT.

Nebraska finished with nine total blocks as a team, holding Creighton to -0.033 hitting for the match.

Three Huskers added eight kills apiece: Adriano, outside hitter Harper Murray and middle blocker Kenna Cogill.

Cogill swung perfectly on 11 attempts in her first collegiate start, and KTIV reported it stood as a career high for the sophomore.

A Short-Handed Rotation

Nebraska played the match without starting middle blocker Manaia Ogbechie, who was out sick, WOWT reported. The Huskers rolled anyway.

Nebraska has now sat atop the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll for 127 weeks all time, more than any program in national history, according to WOWT.

That standing was confirmed in the poll released September 14.

Nebraska returns to action Friday, September 18 at 7 p.m., hosting No. 25 North Carolina, according to KTIV and WOWT.

Creighton will try to snap its losing streak the same night by hosting Kansas State.
