Levi Townley will not compete in the EMX125 in Turkey this coming weekend. The Team Yamaha Europe MJC rider is still suffering the effects of a heavy crash during the ADAC Youngster Cup in Vellahn, where he suffered a significant blow to the head.

Townley competed in Germany last weekend in the 250cc class and made a strong start. In the first moto, he battled with several riders all the way to the finish and secured an impressive third-place finish.

The second moto was also going well until Townley collided with another rider while in the air. The New Zealander had little he could do to avoid the collision and subsequently crashed heavily. He suffered a hard impact to his head and felt the effects of the crash throughout his body.

Townley originally had one more race on his schedule: the EMX125 in Turkey. However, due to the effects of the crash in Vellahn, he has been forced to decide against competing.

As a result, the season for the Team Yamaha Europe MJC rider comes to an end earlier than hoped. Townley is now focusing fully on his recovery and is already looking forward to getting back on the bike.
