LeBron James has set another record, this time off the court.

Fanatics announced that James’ Philadelphia 76ers jersey became the best-selling jersey by a player changing teams within the first 48 hours of a move, breaking the record previously held by MLB star Shohei Ohtani.

While Fanatics did not reveal exact sales figures, the company said James’ 76ers merchandise generated more sales in its first 24 hours than his Los Angeles Lakers gear did after his 2018 decision.

Demand remained strong, with six different color versions of James’ No. 23 jersey selling out within 72 hours. Fanatics later restocked the jerseys on Tuesday and now lists them for preorder.

James’ decision to join Philadelphia created excitement across the city after he chose the 76ers over the Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat.

Philadelphia native Kevin Hart celebrated the move, while WNBA star Caitlin Clark was caught off guard when she learned of the signing during an All-Star Weekend press conference.

Now that his free agency is over, James will try to lead the 76ers to their first NBA championship since 1983, when Philadelphia swept the Lakers in the NBA Finals.
