Victor Wembanyama remains the only member of the 2023 NBA Draft class to sign a rookie-scale extension so far this offseason, with 22 other players still eligible for new long-term deals.

Players entering the fourth and final seasons of their rookie contracts became eligible for extensions on July 1. They have until October 19, one day before the 2026-27 regular season begins, to reach agreements with their current teams.

Extensions can run for as many as five years and would take effect in 2027-28. Players who do not sign before the deadline can become restricted free agents next summer.

Wembanyama has already secured a five-year maximum extension with the Spurs that includes a player option in the final season. The contract is projected to be worth $252.3 million and will begin at 25% of the 2027-28 salary cap.

Several notable players remain eligible, including Amen Thompson, Ausar Thompson, Brandon Miller, Scoot Henderson, Dereck Lively II, Brandin Podziemski, Keyonte George, Cason Wallace and Bilal Coulibaly.

Anthony Black, Noah Clowney, Gradey Dick, Jordan Hawkins, Taylor Hendricks, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kris Murray, Marcus Sasser, Brice Sensabaugh, Ben Sheppard, Julian Strawther, Jarace Walker and Cam Whitmore are also eligible.

Dick remains with Toronto for now but would move to the Clippers if the proposed Kawhi Leonard trade is eventually completed. That deal remains on hold while the NBA investigates allegations involving Leonard and potential salary-cap circumvention.

Several other members of the 2023 first round, including Kobe Brown, Kobe Bufkin, Jalen Hood-Schifino, Jett Howard, Olivier-Maxence Prosper, Nick Smith Jr. and Dariq Whitehead, are not extension-eligible after having options declined or being waived.

More extensions are likely before the October deadline. At least nine rookie-scale extensions have been signed in each of the previous seven offseasons, with a record 14 agreements reached in 2023.
