If Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren is an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2027, expect the Sacramento Kings to have interest. Kings GM Scott Perry met with Duren this offseason, but the Pistons have shown no interest in working a sign-and-trade deal involving their starting center.

Next offseason, Sacramento projects to have cap space and could again pursue Duren. In order for the young center to be an unrestricted free agent next summer, Duren would have to either sign the qualifying offer or another one-year contract or two-year deal with a player option. The latter are less likely, as any non-qualifying offer deal for Duren would likely be a long-term contract.
