TJ Dillashaw has given his thoughts on Kamaru Usman’s performance against Dricus du Plessis at UFC Oklahoma City.

Last weekend in the main event of UFC Oklahoma City, Dricus du Plessis defeated Kamaru Usman – and he did so pretty convincingly. It was a dominant showing, and it vaults DDP right back into the title picture.

As for Usman, many are now questioning what’s next for him. Given his age and some of the losses he’s picked up in recent years, alongside his inactivity, it may not make a whole lot of sense for him to carry on.

In a recent interview, TJ Dillashaw weighed in on how Usman performed against the South African star.

Dillashaw’s view on Usman’s performance

“I hate to see it, but Usman looked slow,” Dillashaw said on the JAXXON PODCAST. “His reaction times weren’t there. He’s a champion. He’s been there. He’s been through it all, so you want to see him perform. But he just looked a lot slower. (Trevor) Wittman did a good job in the corner, like, ‘Hey, you’ve got to go forward,’ and the best round he had when he actually went forward and put the fight to him, but he kept staying at this distance.

“DDP’s timing looked great. He looked very powerful. He definitely made some gains. Every time he went southpaw, he was just waiting for Usman to come in for his shot. The problem was Usman wasn’t setting his shots up, he wasn’t throwing punches before he shoots, and so DDP was able to time him with that knee. … I think DDP looked great, he looked powerful, looked fast. Unfortunately, Usman a little bit slow, didn’t set his shots up. I don’t think he has that same animal that he used to have.”
