Jasrado Prince Hermis Arrington Chisholm Jr., aka Jazz, isn’t going to match Shohei Ohtani’s 50-50 season as he’d suggested he might in a spring training interview. But even in his worst season, he’ll almost definitely go 20-40. And he isn’t thinking about that, anyway. He has only one thing in mind at the moment.

“Just win the World Series … it’s the only goal I got right now,” Jazz said after helping the Yankees win their sixth game out of seven.

The Yankees hold an excellent chance to get to the World Series in an unusually weak American League. Their iffy health is plainly the biggest factor to determine if they make it. But Chisholm will surely have something to say, too — one way or the other.

Chisholm is undeniably one of the most talented players on the $320 million Yankees roster, and he’s even higher on the list of active Yankees since they have a third of their payroll on the injured list, down from half just the day before. Cody Bellinger’s return to activity (mitigated barely by Ryan Weathers’ placement on it) lowered their pay to inactive players from $156 million to $108 million.
