The ISU has announced increased prize money across its figure skating championships and Grand Prix series and has introduced prize money for the seasonal ISU Figure Skating World Standings.

The new amounts, outlined in ISU Communication No. 2820, apply from the 2026/27 season until further notice. Prize money is awarded in U.S. dollars according to final placement, with eligibility requirements applying to the individual competitions.

Below is a breakdown of the prize money for figure skating events.

ISU Figure Skating World Championships

Total prize money: $1,446,000

Only skaters/pairs/couples who qualify for and compete in the Free Skating/Free Dance are eligible, up to a maximum of six in each discipline.

ISU Figure Skating European Championships & Four Continents Championships

Total per championship: $402,000

ISU Figure Skating Junior World Championships

Total prize money: $212,000

ISU Figure Skating Grand Prix — Per Event

Total per event: $240,000
Total for six events: $1,440,000

Payment of Prize Money

The ISU will make the prize money available to the organizing ISU Member for distribution to the ISU Member of the awarded skaters/teams.

An ISU Member may retain a maximum of 10% of the prize money. Applicable withholding taxes, bank charges and other costs may also apply in accordance with the rules outlined in the communication.

The prize-money figures above are gross amounts paid by the ISU.
