Isaiah Joe experienced a reduced role during Oklahoma City’s playoff run, but he said his focus remained on helping the team in any way possible.

The sharpshooter admitted that seeing fewer minutes can be frustrating for any competitor, yet he emphasized the importance of staying ready and contributing whenever called upon.

“As a player or competitor, it’s frustrating. But in the moment, it’s more of what I can do to help the team win.”

Joe explained that even when he wasn’t on the court, he tried to make an impact by supporting his teammates and bringing positive energy to the group.

“You’re just trying to bring energy to the guys.”

He also noted that playing time can be unpredictable within the Thunder’s system, making preparation especially important.

“Obviously with this organization, sometimes you play when you think you’re not going to play. And then you don’t play when you think you’re going to play. You just never know.”

Joe praised Oklahoma City’s culture of readiness and accountability, stressing that players must always be prepared for opportunities.

“That’s just one thing that we’ve been really good at, just the ability to stay ready.”
