Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwayTeam Honda HRC's Chance Hymas has shared an update regarding his condition post High Point National. Sadly, the news isn't positive as Hymas will be forced to sit out the remainder of the 2025 racing season, as he heads into surgery to repair a fully torn ACL in his right knee. This is a situation that Hymas has become far too familiar with, as he's injured his left knee twice in his short career and has required surgery on it as well. With this, Jo Shimoda will remain the team's sole 250 rider for the remainder of 2025.
Chance Hymas will return to racing in 2026 with HRC, as he holds another year on his current agreement with the team. Good luck in therapy, Chance! Watch below for his words on the situation, and you can also read the press release from his team.
Team Honda HRC Progressive Press Release: A scan on Monday confirmed Chance Hymas suffered a torn ACL, slightly sprained MCL, and a minor contusion to his meniscus during Saturday's late-race incident at High Point Raceway. This is the first injury to Hymas' right ACL, although he has undergone two surgical repairs to his left ACL. He is scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday, June 24, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He will miss the remainder of the 2025 season and return with the team for 2026.
“Chance is as tough as they come, so when we saw him in pain after the High Point race, we knew it was serious. We’re gutted to have the injury confirmed, as he was just beginning to show his true potential, with a dominant 1-1 sweep at the Thunder Valley National a couple weeks ago. On the positive side, Chance’s past experiences mean he knows exactly how to tackle this challenge. He has our full support, and we know that he’ll come out the other side stronger than ever.” -Brandon Wilson, Manager of Racing and Advertising at American Honda
