Orgo-Life the new way to the future Advertising by AdpathwaySuper middleweight knockout artist Osleys Iglesias announced on Twitter that he’ll compete in an IBF final eliminator on September 4th.
Iglesias (13-0, 12 KO), last seen clobbering Petro Ivanov in Montreal last November, did not name the opponent. Presumably, it’s Vladimir Shishkin (16-1, 10 KO), whom the IBF ordered Iglesias to fight after a succession of other contenders declined to face “El Tornado.” That’s a very solid matchup on paper; Shishkin has a comparable body of work to Iglesias and only narrowly lost to William Scull in their vacant title bout last October.
That said, Carlos Linares reports that no. 5 contender Callum Simpson (18-0, 13 KO) is also in the mix. The 28-year-old picked up all the relevant British titles during his domestic run but had to survive three knockdowns to beat Ivan Zucco for the European title earlier this month. As long as it gets Iglesias back in the ring, I’m good either way; he fought four times last year but, like FIlip Hrgovic before him, an inability to find a willing dance partner has kept him out of action all year.
