Hamzah Sheeraz says he still wants the biggest fights at 168 pounds and has no issue revisiting his controversial draw with Carlos Adames if the opportunity comes back around.

Sheeraz recently moved up to super middleweight and stopped Alem Begic on the Oleksandr Usyk-Rico Verhoeven undercard in Egypt. The unbeaten contender says his focus is now on becoming undisputed at 168, but he also made it clear he has not ruled out a second fight with Adames after their disputed draw in 2025.

“We’re at that level now where it’s about getting the biggest fights and getting as many as the titles as I can, and I truly believe I can become undisputed at 168,” said Sheeraz to The Ring.

“Because I don’t speak about it much, and because I don’t entertain these Twitter conversations, people think ‘oh, he’s closed to the idea of having that [rematch with Adames]’ but once that gets presented to me, we’ll go.”

Following his win over Begic, Sheeraz says he still believes he can clean out the super middleweight division and become undisputed champion at 168 pounds.

“It’ll be similar to like the Berlanga fight, you know what I mean, where I shut up all the critics and be like ‘now what? What’s next?’” said Sheeraz.

The Adames fight remains one of the more debated results from last year. A lot of fans felt Adames had done enough to win, while others believed Sheeraz’s late rally closed the gap. Either way, the fight left unfinished business, and Sheeraz now sounds more open to revisiting it than he did immediately after the draw.

At 168, Sheeraz is entering a crowded division that already includes Canelo Alvarez, Christian Mbilli, Diego Pacheco, Osleys Iglesias, and Edgar Berlanga. A rematch with Adames would still carry interest because of how close and controversial the first fight was.
