UFC prospect Gable Steveson is ready to make a statement in his UFC 331 clash against Sean Sharaf this weekend.

In the heavyweight division, there are few potential contenders who are considered to be as exciting as Gable Steveson. He has made a seamless transition over into the world of mixed martial arts and with Jon Jones by his side, he hopes to one day rise to the top and become a world champion.

First, though, he needs to put in the work, and on Saturday, Gable Steveson will try and put together another highlight reel moment when he goes head to head with Sean Sharaf. Gable is the heavy favorite, and given the body of work he’s put together so far, that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

In a recent interview, Gable Steveson spoke about his opponent as we get closer and closer to fight night.

“I feel like he’s [Sharaf] really excited to go out there and say, ‘Hey, I fought Gable Steveson.’ It’s kind of like when Mike Tyson went against Peter McNeeley,” Steveson said, via MMA Junkie. “Peter McNeeley was out here talking [to] the whole world, everybody, saying, ‘Hey, I got the chance to fight Mike Tyson.’ Saturday will be that day for him and he’ll go to be a regular citizen after that.”

Regardless of whether you love or hate him, there’s no denying that Gable has the potential to do some big things in mixed martial arts – and he has the chance to continue that upward trajectory at the expense of Sharaf.
